exchange this week...
by: RudeIt’s really distasteful that DKE and AGD still had exchange this week. All the other sororities/fraternities cancelled exchange to be respectful of what’s going on except AGD/DKE. Instead of having their exchange in the village they just moved it to the gal??? Major yikes.....

Its sad what happened but really calling people out like this what or how people should be behave. If they decided to go to the gallery instead to get food is that really a problem. What happened absolutely is tragic and hits hard even if you didn't know them, people cope in different ways, do we know if all chapters shared health and wellbeing resources.There are more important things to worry about such as being a really taking the time to reach to people around you and making time for your friends, really listening and prioritizing your health and wellbeing. Grief hits hard and people deal with it in different ways.

They didn’t just go to the gal to “get food”
tho. They went to drink. DKE and AGD deliberately moved exchange from DKE’s house in the village to the gal so they wouldn’t get caught for being shady....

Imagine... getting mad at people for living their lives? I’m sure people who were in AGD / DKE / FIJI/ ADPI that knew the girl grieved in their own way but hate to break it to y’all ppl die all the time and the world keeps moving. Yes, her death is tragic and untimely but it doesn’t mean that the entire Greek system comes to a halt bc of it

There is no official policy on cancelling stuff if people die in the greek system. If people die which absolutely is really tragic and horrible, they simply followed through what they had planned ahead from weeks ahead. Not many people of chapters knew what happened until Wednesday. If this is something that is really upsetting you, we should change policy. Do we really know why each individual chapter had or did not have exchange that week? Maybe some chapters did not have an exchange scheduled. The greek system is made up 1000 plus people and I am sure that everyone who heard this news felt awful and bad. I don't think there was any ill intent associated with that exchange and if people were so upset about it, then maybe its a mistake and a learning opportunity for the future for panhel/infc to say cancel all exchanges or social activities for x time. That would be a better use of this time that spreading hate in a time that ahould be about coming together.

No one should need an official policy to tell them to respect a situation which affects such a large amount of people in our community. Yes, I do know for a fact that most chapters did have exchanges scheduled and most were canceled like they should have been.

I did not know her and my chapter is not particularly close with kkg. but we are all decent human beings and knew what was right. this is also not a DIFFICULT situation to READ. its pretty obvious what should have been done...we have to be stupid to need an official policy
