i tried phi delta and they do give free rooms to scholarship students like me but i missed their scholarship deadline and now they are full. they say most of their members are already on scholarship and their house is too full.
i will try alpha delta now. i met some people where i am living now and they say there are many gamers and cosplayers in alpha delta. it is good that not all frats are full of athletes who will fail out of school soon, we need frats for those of us on scholarships who will succeed in life and not just get drunk and play sports.

Ed, the fact that you said "we need frats for those of us on scholarships who will succeed in life and not just get drunk and play sports" just proves that you will never be in a fraternity or at least know absolutely nothing about them or their members.

Greek members do have fun and do enjoy playing sports (are athletics a bad thing at UBC nowadays?), but they're also some of the most involved and dedicated individuals on campus. A large chunk of them are highly academically inclined and/or they are very involved in extra-curricular activities and opportunities.

If that's your attitude towards it all, do the System a favour and don't rush.

Not one person I know in Phi Delt plays video games. But loads of boys in alpha delt, sigma chi, and deke do.

You must not be very bright. No fraternity gives free rooms just to scholarship kids, pretty sure some of the chapters have "rooming scholarships" though. There is a difference.

i am pretty smart. lots of frats give free housing to scholarship-worthy students i just missed the deadline. i will be rushing sigma chi and beta theta. phi delta and delta kappa do not seem to have many members that are into anime or cosplay which is what i am looking for in a frat. i do not want to hang with the athletes and "cool kids" in phi delta or delta kappa, i want to make frat brothers that will hang out and do the cool things that i am into.
