just wondering?

by: Hi

I got a bid for a chapter (Theta) that I’m really upset about and got cut from all the chapters I wanted. I know that most of the girls I went through recruitment with who ended up in my chapter were girls I disliked and who also got cut from most other chapters too and idk what to do because I don’t click with the girls at all and it’s been really weird so far. But I heard Theta and AOII are the only chapters that do spring recruitment?

Im in the same situation as you, Im honestly considering dropping and rushing next year. Theres no point spending time and money in a situation that you know you will be uncomfortable with.

You probably shouldn't have singled out the chapter but if you really don't like it and are set on leaving then drop and you can rush next fall. For spring rush, a few chapters do it but it's mainly invite-only and you wouldn't be able to partake as you signed the agreement after pref.

Something to keep in mind, if you don’t want to be in the chapter bc of rankings and want to be in another chapter bc it is ranked higher then I would not recommend rushing next year. If the chapters that are “ranked” higher didn’t call you back it’s because they thought that you wouldn’t be able to vibe with them that well. If you end up joining those higher ranked chapters next year that you wanted, chances are you won’t vibe with them if you didn’t get matched with them in the first place. Whereas the chapter you got a bid right now from thinks you’d vibe with their girls which is why they gave you a bid. Theta did pretty well in recruitment this year so don’t be so quick to judge! I’m in one of the “higher ranked” chapters and have some good friends in theta, maybe give it a chance ?

Some people just don’t make the cut for higher chapters and that’s how you end up with the lower tiers (Theta, AOII etc)

Regardless of ranks, if you can give it a chance, better then leaving and never knowing what could’ve been. It’s hard to build a good relationship over 3 short conversations! Give it a chance, can’t go wrong
