are sororities even relevant any more?
by: CuriousLast year saw less girls signing up for recruitment than the year before for the first time in a long time. A lot of people at UBC would never join a frat or sorority and don’t see it as a cool thing to be a part of or even necessary to have a good party/social life at UBC, and a lot of other people join them drop. And given the messy way marketing has been handled this year by UBC Sororities, I would be surprised to see significant growth in recruitment signups. Thoughts? Can it be turned around or

It’s always kind of been this way but fraternities are suuuper unpopular now and I think for a lot of people that extends to sororities as well. Canada has never had a strong Greek culture but UBC’s was the strongest, but I think it’s peak has passed in terms of recruiting the best students at UBC.
