it really depends on which organization you join. my fraternity has a system in place to help guys who are struggling but we don't have a minimum required gpa as of right now. in case you're worried about greek life taking up too much studying time and that you'll then fail, don't be. we're all at ubc firstly to get a degree, then to do whatever else. if you manage your time well and make studying a priority, then you should have absolutely no problem balancing that and other activities. thats all at least from my experience.

Yeah, we have this too. I wouldn't worry about the average for most sororities.

In my sorority, if it falls, we have mandatory study tables to attend and stuff of that sort and you need to report your grades at the end of the semester. You also can't hold positions if your grades fall.

Yeah, positions are the biggest issues if you have a low average. Otherwise I've never heard of anyone getting kicked out cause their marks dropped.

The minimum GPA varies depending on the sorority but all of the 8 sororities have chapter averages in the low to mid seventies and the top GPA sorority might have even had its GPA in the high seventies. That being said if your GPA is lower than the average you'll still get a bid if you get along with the girls but the higher the GPA the better your chances.

Even if your GPA falls most organizations will provide you with support to get your grades back up. Greek organizations also have resources such as test banks and networking potential across all faculties.
