do people in real life care about ranking ?

I found this site by accident when I was googling UBC ‘s greeklife since I was interested in going to the spring rush. There seems to be a lot of discussions here on “rankings”. Does everyone in the Greek system really care that much ? Or is it just a small number of individuals posting here all the time? Be honest pls
