by: BettyIf it were a possibility should sororities have their own houses?

Every sorority can afford a house except for aopi who isn't even trying. If all sororities do get houses they probably won't be close to each other so recruitment would likely still happen in panhel and then maybe for their top 3 or 2 pnm's would do "house tours" just like in the states.

Hey y'all
A big part of why theres a struggle for housing is because UBC is on unceded terrority. Because of this, there is a certain amount of infrastructure that can be built on campus, and those spots are filling up. We could buy houses/space on campus and renovate for sure, however because of the low capacity/high cost, I'm not sure it would be a good investment for any chapter. Additionally, we could go off campus, but Point Grey has some of the highest cost of land in Canada, so again, potentially a bad investment considering you would have to go past Pacific Spirit park to get a theoretical greek row, and then we would be extremely far from the frats. ALL IN ALL, a big part of why we don't have houses is due to the climate of real estate in Vancouver, combined with limited space on campus.

Im already in a sorority at another school but I am transferring. I was interested in the housing situation because I dont really understand the whole panhellenic building thing. If I am in sorority A does that mean I have to live with people in sorority B or C?
Also if I am understanding if someone wanted to gift a chapter a house they couldnt accept it? (I know someone who knows someone 😉)
