can i change my sorority

by:

So I just transferred from a university in the states but they don't have my sorority here at UBC. Do you think next year i could rush and they wouldn't notice or is dirty rush a thing in Canada? I just really want to be apart of a sorority and most of my friends here are in them.

I think it's not allowed, as you would carry the ritual/traditions from your previous sorority. Nothing's stopping you from trying to go through recruitment, but there's also tons of other ways to get involved around
Campus. Best of luck!

It’s not allowed. You made a commitment to an international organization. You know their rituals, their secrets and you should be living by their values. Normally I would encourage a transfer student to join and make new friends, but it doesn’t sound like you’d be a good addition to this chapter.

It sucks that that’s the case but unfortunately once you are initiated into a Panhellenic sorority your name is in the system and they check everyone when you register for recruitment. It doesn’t matter if your school was in a different country. The only way it would be possible is if you were in a local sorority at your old school.
