Hi everyone! I'm hoping to join a sorority in the fall. I was a part of many sport teams in high school and most of my friendships were formed through that, so I was wondering which sororities have sports teams (if any). :) Can't wait to meet you all

I would say AGD is the sportiest, followed by ADPI, then Gamma phi. This is based solely on ubc rec points.

AGD has teams in every rec sport/event (aside from ice hockey). Not sure if others do?

Pretty much every sorority has Rec teams so you're in the right place! Soccer, volleyball, touch football, basketball, Ultimate, etc. For a few chapters Rec teams are included in your dues (can't speak to all but I know mine does). There are all-girls teams and also joint teams with fraternities

I know for sure that GPhi, ADPi, Alpha Phi, AGD have quite a few rec teams and can't speak to other chapters so would love if someone else could chime on for those!

Lots of sororities/fraternities also have sports events to raise money for their philanthropies. For example, ADPi has Diamond Ball for Ronald McDonald House and DKE has a street hockey tournament called Stick It To Cancer for the Canadian Cancer Society and they are super fun! People from every Greek organization go to those

DG only has a team for storm the wall, they don't participate in other rec sports (they might have had one team last term)

In my opinion adpi has a TON of involvement in sports, multiple teams in every single rec event, and teams in every sport for leagues.

AGD's won the sports trophy like every year for a billion years. If u see the trophy, 95% of the years have agd's name on it. That being said I don't think all of the girls are like super athletes

I think it's because they give it to the chapter who has the highest sports points

sports are a GREAT way to socialize. If you're like me, then loud parties aren't really the place where you like to meet new people. Joining a sport team can really help you bond not only with your sisters but also meet some great frat guys.

honestly every sorority has sports theirs caters towards, instead of finding out over this website why don't you strike that up as a convo with a girl during recruitment! theyll appreciate your desire to get involved

I didn't write the comment you replied to but I posted here earlier!

No, there's nothing wrong with a PNM asking a question here, and they're getting some really good responses! :) But the most accurate answer they'll get will probably be through asking during recruitment directly. I can really only speak to my own sorority and the other sorority's philanthropic events, and not necessarily their UBC Rec teams, so this would make a good recruitment question (if the PNM wanted to ask)!
