greek rank is why i didn't join a sorority

by:

This is coming from someone who went through recruitment and skipped out in recruitment because I wasnt accepted into a "top tier" sorority. Honestly, this site is so toxic for new ladies who want to join. Even though I clicked with the sorority, I let my young first year mentality cloud my judgement, leaving me salty, rattled and scared of what others might think. I look back and extremely regret not going through with it because at the end of the day, its what you make of it and fck anyone who puts a label on the "tiers".

to any PNMs on greek rank: do not take this to heart. Go through recruitment and form your own judgments. Also, don't be deterred because of all the cattiness displayed on this website - it's usually 1-2 members of each sorority who just continually post. The majority of girls in the greek system are very sweet and kind

Sorry you had that experience, but honestly if you are so swayed by the opinions of others then you can't really blame that on a website.

Your RC's, women on Council, and the women in each chapter do their best to make sure recruitment is an inclusive and exciting process where each girl is able to find their home. We tell you to go where you feel the best for a reason, and if you choose not to follow that in person, real advice from sorority women and choose instead to listen to a website, then it's on you for not getting to have the sorority experience.

All of the women currently in sororities saw Greekrank when they were going through recruitment. They all joined their organizations in spite of it, because they had stronger personalities than listening to anonymous comments on a website.

As much as I think Greekrank is negative and toxic, I also don't have a ton of patience for people who blame their whole recruitment experience on it. IF you're your own person, then this stuff shouldn't bother you so much that you don't even join a sorority. Yes, first year is tough for caring about what others think but so many first year girls join their sororities and have amazing experiences regardless of this stupid website.

Preach!! As negative as this site can make sororities seem, at the end of the day, you are your own best judge and if you couldn't see past this site and find somewhere you belong, you can't really blame anyone.

Yaaas girl, agree with this so much. If a website is enough to make you not join a sorority then you shouldn't be in one in the first place
