what are the different sororities like?

AGD - I'm sure they get tired of always being described as sporty but they're sporty and they always win Songfest

ADPi - They are pretty competitive academically and involvement-wise and a little intense in a good way

GPhi - The kind of girls that say they eat pizza all the time but really their hair and makeup is always perfect and like you see them eat pizza but where does it GO?

APhi - Cute, funny, and down to earth but sometimes they get a little too ham. More girly than sporty

DG - You cannot deny they have the best gang sign, and the girls are pretty rad and fun as well. DG's tend to be outgoing and bubbly, not the most involved though

AOII - some of the sweetest girls, their chapter is the newest so they struggle with numbers but honestly so nice

Kappa - v popular with frats, a lil intense but nice girls overall

Take ALL of these with a grain of salt, you never know who you'll bond with and all of these chapters have amazing girls :)

First of all, all sororities have a wide range of people and it's not good to generalize, BUT my impression of the sororities are:

AGD - sporty, smart, win panhel awards
ADPI - well-rounded/involved, competitive, sisterly
Gphi - social, sisterly, smart
Aphi - really improving over the years. Social
DG - pretty, outgoing/bubbly, social
kappa - great social life, very popular with the frats
theta - super smart, kind people
AOII - really improving, and some of the kindest girls

As a PNM you should be aware that recruitment can be overwhelming, and when you go through tours lots of girls won't get invited back to the sororities that they thought were their favorites. DON'T get discouraged by this!! It doesn't mean you aren't awesome or pretty or a great person - it means that sorority just thought you would shine brighter and fit in better in another chapter

It really sucks when girls get their hearts set on one chapter and then drop out of recruitment when they don't get invited back to it, when there are so many other amazing sororities and hundreds of girls in the Greek system. So the best advice any PNM could have is that you need to trust the process and stick it out to the end.

The girls who are already in sororities know their chapters way better than you do (after all, they have been in them for a while and know all the girls, as opposed to the 20 minute conversation you have during recruitment). So if they think you'd be happier somewhere else, you have to trust that!
