I''m a third year pnm who didn't get an bid this year. How does COB work and should I even bother trying? (I know it's harder to get bids as an upper year) thanks!

You just drop by any of the open house events hosted by the chapters that offer COB and so far I've heard that COB is easier than formal recruitment. It's worth the shot, good luck! :)

If you signed a form after Preference during Formal Recruitment, you're unfortunately not eligible for COB and have to wait a full calendar year! However, if you dropped before then, you are eligible for COB. Alpha Omicron Pi just had an open house yesterday (I think, you'll have to check their social media) so I'm sure if you contact them you will be able to find out more info about joining!

I actually got dropped after invitationals, so I am eligible for COB. Just want to know what my chances are as I'm not sure it'll be worth going through/getting disappointed again :/

It's actually not that much harder to get a bid as an upper year. TONS of girls join in their third year (quite a few in their fourth this year too). If the chapters like you, age doesn't matter.

Obviously something else was going on during recruitment. Maybe you just didn't talk to the right people, maybe your grades are on the low side. Either way it is easier to COB and see how it goes.
