how much time does fraternity pledging take?

I'm going into 2nd year science and was thinking of pledging a fraternity. I've heard that it is a huge time commitment, and seeing as I will be taking 5 difficult courses I am worried that my grades might suffer. I am hoping to achieve a high GPA (3.8) in order to go to grad school so academics is something I take very seriously. I like getting my 8hrs of sleep, going out with the boys, and hitting thr books hard. Will pledging lower my grades? How much hours (per week) usually go into it?

you'll be completely fine. i pledged with 5 courses, a part-time job, and serious family problems, got a B+ average, and had an unreal semester socially.

I had 5 courses, commutted, and worked pt. Study with your pledge bros and learn to prioritize, never forget that you're at UBC first and in a frat second
