does gamma phi actually haze??
by: HiI'm a PNM and I heard they're the only sorority that hazes. Everyone tells me this sorority is bad news (very judgmental, catty, arrogant and obsessed with themselves) but I never knew they were this bad..

Hi PNM,
Please realize that all of these comments are very very biased and one sided. The only people who know if a sorority hazes are obviously only the girls in that chapter. UBC is VERY strict about hazing and I have personally and honestly never ever heard of any hazing in our sororities here. Please do not listen to these comments as they are obviously posted by girls who want you to think a certain way about a sorority. Go through rush with an open mind and know that there is absolutely no sorority hazing here at UBC. :)

I know for a fact they used to haze but that was at the time when gamma phi was a really great sorority. From what I know it was mainly body shaming and face shaming/other psychological "hazing" + the pledge party....i don't think they haze anymore but they've also become a lot worse now that they've stopped the hazing.

hi PNM! while i'm not in gamma phi, please take every single post and comment on this website with a MASSIVE grain of salt. one of the unfortunate flaws of the greek system at ubc is that this website isn't put to good use. UBC is extremely strict with hazing, if panhel finds out that a sorority hazes they would most likely get their charter taken away (and therefore wouldn't have a chapter at ubc anymore). honestly, i feel as though only an initiated gamma phi would know. while hazing definitely isn't a part of ritual, it is something to be kept secret and differs from sorority to sorority (except this mostly applies for the states, like i said ubc is very strict about hazing). please go into recruitment with an open mind! some girls i know, myself included, have found amazing friends and sisters in the greek system, and i'm sure you'll find that in the sorority that's right for you, no matter which one it is.
