rushing in 3rd year is it a good idea?
by: 3rdYearI'm looking for some insight into rushing a fraternity. The brotherhood aspect has always appealed to me, however I hear horror stories about first year pledges barely passing. Is that because they're first years and don't know how to manage their time or is it because joining a fraternity is that much of a time commitment. I plan on taking five 3rd year level classes per semester and need to ensure my GPA is very high as I intend to apply to grad schools later on. Do fraternities take away alot of time from academics or do they understand if you prioritize studying over certain social gatherings.

Learning to manage your time is a part of life. Ask yourself if you're really dedicated to being part of an organization that could really further your university experience. Yes, it takes up a lot of time, but it's also amazing. Everyone in a fraternity is going through or has gone through the same things. We're all busy, we all have school and commitments, but we make time for what we need to do.
If you really want it, you'll make it work.
