which fraternity does the most philanthropy

Hi, I'm a 1st year planning on rushing September 2016 and wanted to know which fraternity, in your hopefully unbiased opinion, does the most to give back to the community. Philanthropy is the most important factor, followed by Brotherhood, Honor/Sophistication, and then Sorority Relations.

DKE does Stick it to Cancer, which is an event that personally affected one of their brothers, and they raise a TON of money every year for it. It's (and I'm in sorority) probably the best philanthropy event in the Greek system and they put so much hard work into it

Okay, so I looked into both Fraternities. Turns out both have a very close and personal connection to their causes. DKE with losing a loved one to cancer and SIG with losing a loved one to Cystic Fibrosis.

Isn't Sigma Chi the fraternity that spearheads Shinerama?

Yeah, you're right.

I'll go through the rush process fully and see where my heart lies. The brotherhood aspect is very important to me as well because I don't think any other organizations on campus can offer me that sense of community that the Greek system provides.

You dont have to get to know the guys on the day of rush, its better to meet them way ahead in advance. Sure rush is a great way to start but its hard to really know someone in 3-4 days. That goes with you being able to judge their philanthropy and brotherhood as well as them judging how well they click with you. They are gonna give bids out to guys who they already know, not strangers.

like everyone else mentioned above, dke and sig are the answer to your question. But when you rush, have an open mind about it and check out every house. You never know where you actually might fit in.

Joining for philanthropy may be literally one of the worst reasons to join a frat. Not because it's not important to frats on principle, but because most of them spend so little of their time on it compared to other aspects of greek life.
