Traditional rankings are misleading. SigEp is committed to being a different kind of fraternity – one that recognizes the importance of the out-of-classroom experience and is committed to making that experience the safest and most empowering part of a college male’s life. SigEp is unique in that our brotherhood and all fraternity events are free by choice of all vestiges of archaic processes of "pledging." The brothers feel that the brotherhood we are constantly striving to build does not require that members "prove" their masculinity. The chapter also works to encourage other fraternities toward eradicating dangerous and illegal activities for members.

SigEp's nationwide substance-free policy demonstrates our leadership in creating a bright future for fraternities. SigEp knows that we have the great opportunity here at Bama to really implement a lot of our new initiatives to craft a different experience on campus and establish what a fraternity can be. SigEp is models the way, and others will eventually follow.
