is rush hard?

by: 2020girl

I'm almost positive I will be attending Purdue next fall but was wondering if Purdue's rush is difficult? I know it's not to the caliber of the South, but is it hard to get into a decent house? Thanks!!

I'm assuming you're a female based of of your username. I'm not going to line recruitment is super stressful, but it is also worth it! It's not really hard, because you just have to be yourself. It can just end up being a stressful week because the days are long! I'd say if your interested Definitey go for it! Worse comes to worse you don't have to join!

If you go into recruitment with an open mind, you will find your place. If you go in worrying about "tiers" and "social status", you may or may not. In sororities with 140 women, it's not too hard to find "your people" in any of our organizations. Depends what you're looking for - some are more studious, others more party-oriented, some are more balanced, and others are more philanthropic, but all are "decent."

Purdue's system is set up to place every decent woman who rushes. Typically, women drop out if they don't like their invitations, but almost nobody just gets "cut" across the board.

IU has this messed up "bed quota" thing, where every year the number of rushees increases but the number of bids given out stays about the same. That leads to many bidless women, and it's great that we don't have that here.

Yet another reason why IU sucks
