by: Wonderingis there anyway kd could recruit and come out upper bottom/middle tier? Like idk how selective they can be. Any thoughts?

Pledge classes would be bigger if more girls started and stuck through recruitment.

974 registered and quota was 36. 36x17 sororities=612, so that's 362 women that dropped or didn't get a bid, although in all fairness over 100 didn't show from the get-to.

No there were 4 other options other than to drop. Doesn't sound like you understand the panhellenic mission at all.

Doubt aopi will have a house next year. There haven't even began yet and there is still a house on their property they are building on.

Wow! Girls dropping recruitment because "they didn't like the 4 or so houses that invited them back?" Just who do you think you all are? So rather than join some house en mass and improve them with your "greatness" (which is very doable) you want to have a quick fix, join the new sorority and make it instantly popular because that's what you "deserve". Such entitlement. Join a sorority for sisterhood, social functions and philanthropy - not for snap chats and Instagram! There is not one house on Purdue's campus that is not absolutely appropriate for any of you.
Ha! I wish KD would only consider girls who didn't walk away from house invites during formal recruitment. They clearly won't make any of you happy either!

I actually went back the next day and only got 2 after the four and sorry that I personally couldn't see myself being genuine friends with any of the girls I met. I didn't drop because of social status or obviously I wouldn't be considering KD. If I didn't feel like I could be friends with anyone in those two houses why Should I have stayed when I knew I didn't click with any of those people!

But you're about to join a chapter where you have zero idea who any of these girls are and whether or not you'd be compatible with them, so I'm not buying the "I didn't drop because of social status" reason.
All of the threads asking about the possibility of KD becoming top within the next couple of years are being asked by those who want to join. Most of them are people who rushed , got cut early, then all of a sudden "didn't like their remaining options" and dropped. They feel that they're entitled to be apart of a great house and they're hoping that by joining KD they'll get that popularity that they want. The exact same thing happened when AOPi came on campus.
You all know deep down that's the real reason why you want to join so save us with these excuses. There's nothing wrong with wanting your chapter to be great, just be realistic and realize that it won't happen overnight.

...so, let's get this straight: You got cut by everyone but four houses, then cut by two of those the next day? What makes you think you are in such high demand that KD will want you? My guess is that you are a freshman (...and a freshman with a clear sense of entitlement). KD will be looking for an even number of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors (so that everyone doesn't graduate at once). A lot of those sophomores and juniors will be girls who, for whatever reason, did not go through recruitment before. The competition for those freshmen slots will probably be pretty competitive, as that will be a lot of the girls who dropped during recruitment.
My guess is that if you got cut as hard as you indicated:
1. Prob not the best grades
2. Blah/Bad Personality
3. Not particularly good looking
and/or a combination of the above.
Bottom line: Don't get your hopes up, Actually. And think about those houses that DID invite you back when you spend your time as a GDI.

You must have done something really wrong to get drop by that many houses. You are not a special snowflake and probably are a snob that people didn't like. Better change of you will get cut by KD too.

That is so not true! over 300 girls dropped out because they didn't like the sororities that exist. KD is a great sorority nationally.
