by: NervousWhat should PNMs expect as far as cuts for Saturday? Will they be harsh? I was fortunate to be invited to 13 today and I felt comfortable at most of them, don't know how I'm going to wait until Saturday!!!

All houses have made GPA cuts and cuts for girls who they do not think are a good fit. So if your grades are good and you think you connected, you should be fine for Saturday. The system works so even if a house cuts you that you liked, another house might be better for you than you know.

If you had a full schedule first invitational then your chances for a full schedule second invitational are pretty good. Even if you had 11 or 12 you could still get a full schedule. But the cuts are pretty drastic; however just keep trying and it might hopefully work out. No need to get all stressed out about it now.

Just keep your mental notes from the last round so when you see where you are invited back you are prepared. Don't dwell the house that may have dropped you. Focus on houses that want you. Best case scenario is to go to final pref with three houses you would be pleased to join.

I'm a sophomore and for the first invitational I was only invited back to 8. I'm super stressed out and don't even know if I will have any invites on Saturday at all.. wondering if i should just drop and spare myself the embarrassment of not having any house invite me back :(

I am a sophomore and was also pretty upset, but I know a lot of others with our situation, so we should be fine.

Don't let your inner doubt get to you. It's YOUR rush, nobody else's. I think if you have no invites (I don't really think that will happen) your Gamma Chi may give you a heads up that morning before meeting. It only takes one house that you like. As long as you stay open minded and want to be greek, you will most likely find a place where you will be happy. Those 8 may really like you.

I got only 4 houses for today, 2 of which I am not interested at all and 2 which I'm like ehh? I don't know if its even worth it for me to go tomorrow to visit 1-2 houses that I don't even like. I am super embarrassed about not getting enough houses back because it just makes me realize that I don't fit in anywhere, even though the reason I was rushing was to find a place where I fit in.

don't worry, this happens to quite a few girls. sometimes after preference round girls know where they're meant to be, even if it's a house they never considered, but if that doesn't happen to you, it's completely okay to drop! a few houses will have COB that you have the chance to participate in.

If you want to be Greek you will go. If you dont feel its worh "your time" to enjoy an afternoon of parties that members have poured their energy into then you will stay home. If its fear that wants to keep you in your dorm, then I challenge you to buck up, dress up and see what may be potentially the best decision you have ever made.

Although I can't promise anything, I feel confident that you will get a decent amount of invites back. This may be your last chance to go Greek - give it your all and have no regrets. So called top tier houses do not take many sophomores, so that is most likely the main reason you did not have more, but you do have 8 that liked you enough to invite you back! You can only go to a maximum of 8 on Saturday. Many PNMs will only have 5/6. I encourage you to go for it. You can always speak with your Gamma Chi and ask her to text you beforehand to save any embarrassment if that makes you feel better, but I truly think that if you embrace the chapters you have, you will find your place.
