tier system

what does the tier system mean? Like what is the difference between the top, middle, and bottom tiers?

Top tier are what the greek community consider to be "the best" and lower tier are what they consider to not be as good. Top tier fraternities and sororities tend to function with one another while lower tier fraternities and sororities function with each other. The middle is in the middle. If you're planning on rushing then try to ignore all the talk and find a place where you find out that you truly fit. Just because a sorority is "top tier" doesn't mean that you will fit in and be happy. Pick what feels right for you!

Tiers on this website are based entirely on social factors. When you're rushing, ask about other aspects of Greek life you're interested in such as community service, and also try to get a feel for how strong the sisterhood is.
