Zeta's steady decline is a result of an overall degradation of their image as a house. They used to be very attractive, middle tier women with personalities to match that. But as of late, some of their girls have either fallen in the looks department, or fallen personality wise. There seems to be a lot of inner-house drama where Zeta is concerned and even if you don't want to hear it, the 9 girls dropping is a HUGE deal. That's indicative of a problem with their system that needs to be addressed.

Now as for how other houses can avoid dropping like them? Well the first part is making sure you continue to associate with reputable people. The second is not to have situations arise where the Greek Community as a whole can see you doing something they disagree with. The biggest example of this I can cite is BMOC. Normally a great event without too much negative fanfare. This year, Zeta has been catching flak because of claims of favoritism. Whether or not it's true isn't entirely relevant. The masses have a lower opinion of them.

As for why they're predicted to stay lower is because the houses with upwards momentum tend to retain it. People talk, rumors spread and people's perceptions change. The incoming freshman are going to hear stories about Zeta. They're going to hear positive things and they're going to hear negative things. Now those girls who are "upper tier material" (I quote this because of how ridiculous that phrase is) aren't going to...

be drawn towards Zeta if they have apparent negatives and drama surrounding them. As a result of THAT, they'll end up recruiting less than quality members in the eyes of the rest of the Greek System and their stock will fall as a result.

However, this is all based on assumptions. For all we know, Zeta could have a STELLAR year next year, but it doesn't seem very likely. People are losing the desire to associate and pair with them (Looking at you DChi, I've heard the things your brothers say). If that doesn't change, their decline into bottom tier is almost imminent.

Also they had to give out a large number of snap bids because they messed up during recruitment and not enough people chose zeta.

They had a bad pledge class last year and those women are long gone. They'll be fine this year. Zeta has a strong presence on campus and by far the best philanthropy in BMOC and a good national organization and reputation. Other organizations saw their pledge class weakness and went after them to make their own seem better and to a certain extent it worked (at least on this site) but they are only a good pledge class away from going back to their "norm." Don't count out the women at Zeta.

One bad pledge class can not be blamed for an ENTIRE organization of terrible sisterhood. I've heard from more than one sister that this house is a trainwreck, that they feel bullied, and wish they had the guts to drop like the others did. The truth is that the great zetas that people talk about have all graduated and have been replaced with cliquey girls that think too highly of themselves and it shows. It just goes to show that a legacy can only hold a house up for so long and a successful philanthropy doesn't make a sorority.

Finally someone said it!!! Zeta needs to stop blaming all of their problems on one pc. That alone shows how terrible their sisterhood is. How do you think it makes that class feel when they point the finger at them? I would have dropped for sure if I was in a house with that kind of attitude.

Their only defense has been blaming those poor girls. I feel bad for their babies. Terrible sisterhood.

God is right, as usual. Their dropping is inevitable at this point. They have a lot to work on.
