opinions on akl?
by: FreshyIncomming freshman. Have a buddy in AKL. Tells me that they are mid tier house who have a good time. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Let's get something straight, AKL is NOT mid tier. They're last pairing was with GPhi. That said, they are a bottom tier house that is still solid all the way around. I'm not sure what exactly is holding them back from advancing up the tiers, but something is. Regardless, they still party and have a ton of great brothers. I'd put them solidly in the bottom tier, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's better than being completely irrelevant like Crows or Beta Sigma Psi.

I go to akl a lot. The thing that holds them back right now is that a lot of their older brothers are all about blacking out and don't really care about being social, but these guys are graduating or have already graduated. Their sophomores and younger are more comitted to moving up the ranks. While they won't be a solid middle house in the near future, I think within a year or two they will be right where theta chi/pike/DU are if they recruit well in the fall.
