Is it necessary to have refrences for all the houses at purdue? Is it beneficial?

I know a kid who was a legacy and had letters of recommendation to one of the top houses here and he didn't get a bid. if anything I'm pretty sure a lot of fraternities don't like it.

IMO if you don't personally know an alum from a certain house, don't have a recommendation. We respect that you put the effort, but if it's impersonal it doesn't hold that much weight.

If it's a great rec, (especially from a Purdue Alum), it will make sorority members look out to meet you, but it's up to you after that. If it's just an introduction rec, probably not. They are not necessary at Purdue.
