sorority spring rush

Almost all houses do. Some are more competitive than others depending on how many spots are open. My house did very well during fall recruitment and only 2 girls dropped because of time commitment and switching to another school. So essentially we only have 2 maybe 3 spots open.

Some houses will do spring recruitment. It is not at all a reflection of the house. Panhel sets a limit on the number of girls each house can take at the end of fall recruitment. Each house is not allowed to go over this number. This is to make sure a "super house" does not get established on campus. After the formal bids are extended and accepted, houses can decide to continuous bid with girls who did not end up with a bid from formal recruitment. Most houses prefer to wait and extend invites and potential open parties for interested girls for spring recruitment in order to get the best pool of girls. Just because a house participates in spring recruitment doesn't mean they have lost any members. Some physically larger houses have a large enough capacity (like DZ or Tri Delt) that they couldn't possibly fill their house with only the allotted panhel size pledge class from formal fall recruitment.

When does DZ not do informal? They have enough girls drop that they usually have spots open.
