Well it was easy to see today that The Kappa girls had fallen quite a bit, Pi phi girls are pretty gorgeous, and surprisingly Phi Mu and AXO have some very hot girls as well. It seems like with this years recruitment a decent amount of hot girls ignored the social hierarchy.

It's too early to say who took the best class. The only top house that took a snap bid was Kappa. Snap bids are not a bad thing... But allows the chapter to pick up a great girl they wanted but could only take 37. Kappa picked up I believe 1.
GphiB picked up about 10... Good gor them. It helps to build their chapter.

I'm not a Pi Phi, but I don't think you know how snap bids work... Snap bids are extremely awkward and shows that a house was being way too selective and couldn't get everyone on their bid list because they dropped or went elsewhere. Imagine being dropped from a house and then receiving a call from them a few days later offering a bid... Yeah a lot of houses had to do that.

I didn't even think the op was a pi phi. She said they got a great PC and they did! Usually they're known as the top house that has more of a rager vibe then a hottest girl on campus vibe- but now they are picking up hot ragers. You come off as a bitter kappa. Do less and be happy for the rest of the Greek community. Congrats to AXO and Phi Mu as well for great recruitment!

Completely agree with the above post. I don't see why the "hot girls" on campus have to have a stuck up vibe. Pi phi is definitely mastering having gorgeous girls that are down to earth, and the recent pledge class proves that. This is also true with Aphi. This years recruitment really knocked down stuck up houses like kappa, seems like PNMs really were looking for something more in a house this year. And the "tiers" really leveled out. Putting pi phi, aphi, and kappa at the same level.

I don't think you understand snap bids. Snap bids are done after bid matching and before bid day. Most girls would not know they were a snap bid because it is done in conjunction with bid matching. They receive their bid along with everyone else and participate in all Bid Day activities. So it is not awkward, because no one would ever know.
If a girl is cross cut, she can be offered a bid if a house is not at capacity. The house might have taken quota, but might have additional spots so they can go back and pick up a girl they might have preffed, but was cross cut.

This last recruitment has definitely leveled out the top tier! Kappas on probation, Pi Phi & A Phi just standard recruitment with while DZ, DG and Chi O rocked the PNMs through the process.
Top tier (in no particular order as all are now equal!)
Pi Phi, Kappa, Chi O, DZ, DG, A Phi
Upper middle tier (with the help of great recruiting this tier has grown and are equal)
AXO, Zeta, Phi Mu, Tri Delt, Theta
Lower middle tier but HUGE improvements with great recruitment
AGD, AXiD
Low tier (great recruitment Gamma Phi!)
Gamma Phi, SK, AOPi, SDT

This was definitely the year where being solely top tier just wouldn't cut it anymore. Girls were preffing all over the place and choosing surprising houses over others. While I do agree that a lot more houses are becoming similar, I just want to tweak your list a little bit and get rid of the awkward "lower middle tier." Zeta and DZ have been hovering around the top long enough and they party with the same houses as the top. AXiD's pledge class could be more similarly compared to Phi Mu's than AGD's.
In no particular order:
Top tier:
Pi Phi, Zeta, Kappa, DG, Chi O, A Phi, DZ
Middle:
Phi Mu, Tri Delt, AXiD, Theta
Low tier:
AOPi, SK, AGD, Gamma Phi, SDT

^idk if axd has made the jump quite yet but they are doing great things for themselves!
^^ original poster is on par though. The "top" is way too big for 3 houses, it's silly to try to fit them that way.

I feel like every house that didn't have to give out snap bids are the true winners. Being so selective during rush screwed over a lot of top houses. APhi, Kappa, Zeta, and DZ and maybe a few more are all rumored to have given out snap bids and it honestly shows. They didn't get the best looking girls.
While no pledge class was absolutely stunning, a lot of houses got some really pretty, down to earth girls that looked for houses with substance and more than just the top house name. Theta, AXO, Phi Mu, and AXiD were really surprising this year. There were a lot of girls that preffed at top houses that chose these houses over them. Despite all of this I think Pi Phi got the hottest pledge class.
