Freshman Fraternity Housing & Legacy Chances?

Do freshman still have to live in the dorms or do they get to move in?

What if a parent or grandparent were Greek at different schools/houses? Will that hurt or help getting into one of those houses? Heard that some actually don't like being stuck with legacies?

freshmen do not live in greek housing at all and it's nearly impossible to get out of the dorm contract once signed
