Please help with rankings for recruitment

by:

One thing that’s super confusing about all the discussions for tiers and rankings - it’s not clear what actually helps a pnm decide which sororities will be a positive experience for them specifically? Like not a popularity contest or superficial aspects, but an actual community of sisters who are accepting and a house they’ll be happy with? It seems like each house has its own values and vibe, but that could change with each new pc, right? People keep saying “trust the process” and “keep an open mind” - but this site has these definitive lists of rankings, are those just about keeping the pecking order intact for the “popular” kids or is there real substance behind the rankings? Honestly, the rankings and tiers are all a little cringe and makes me and my friends want to stay away. We were hoping to find a fun sisterhood. Help?

then i would recommend staying offfff of this site and disregarding everything you hear about ranks. go into recruitment with an open mind, think about how each house makes you feel, ask about sisterhood and philanthropy and involvement, and try to figure out if you would feel happy being 'sisters' with the girls rushing you. there are lots of great sisterhoods at purdue! feel out the values and vibes and keep an open mind about every house and you will find a house that works for you. really only weirdos care about ranks -- and that's true for both fraternities and sororities, for the most part most people (and everyone worth hanging out with) don't know/care about the "rankings" at all.

I’ve been wondering the same thing! This site has a bunch of toxic posts - people tearing other sororities down or making fun of them - it all makes me think Greek life at Purdue is sketchy. I mean, I thought college would be different from high school. I’ve heard good things though so it’s confusing.

seriously, I’m a legacy for a sorority considered “top” tier and my female relatives loved being in a sorority but I’m so over the bickering and bullying I see on this site - it’s a huge turn off. I’m still going through recruitment, but I hope Greek life at Purdue isn’t as petty as what’s on greek rank. I’m ignoring this site and erasing it from my memory. Weird.
