New Membership GPA typically provides a direct correlation to how difficult/time consuming pledging is for the house (also look at Fall New Membership GPA – much lower for some houses). Use this list to narrow down what houses to visit. Join the house based on who you meet.

Looks like Theta Chi will continue to rise with the perfect balance of social and academics! If you don't mind their house, Fiji is always near the top. Delts is a great party house, but avoid if you need to make the grade and don't have the control. Glad to see some mid houses showing some grit (Pi Kapps and Snu).
I wouldn't eliminate all houses on probation, but no one likes to be on the bubble of trouble (ask Sigma Chi).

look at their previous fall class gpa, better than any other rushable frat aside from theta chi, they have 10 guys in their class and 1 probably got like a 0. I have never seen someone put so much into a spring class gpa.

OK, SAE. The fact that you are trying to justify an AVERAGE of 2.44 for 15 members says more than enough. I can't imagine what percentage of pledges were on academic probation. Previous semesters look ok. I'm not sure I would agree that SAE is "better than any other rushable frat".

Three years ago, I would have never attended a rush event at a few of the remaining houses. I was lucky and joined the house where I already had connections. My advise is to attend at least 1 function at these houses. Final advise, if you attend a function and they are not encouraging you to come back to the next event, move on! It is probably not the right fit and there is a limited amount of time.

Theta Chi will continue to rise. People keep saying they will fall once their IFC board member graduates. Another year of being on top makes a big difference on overall ranking. It is going to be a great year! Freshman should check out other houses, but there are some obvious ones to avoid based on the numbers!
