PLZ HELP! dropping a bid
by: GvyvyvI rushed spring COB, and accepted a bid from a sorority. After being involved a bit, I realized that this doesn’t feel right. The current sisters of the house are really sweet, but the girls in my PC are not my vibe and very cliquey. I was wondering if I drop a bid now, could I rush in the fall? Would doing Spring COB sophomore year be worth it? Do sophomores even get bids in the fall? I’m just really lost right now because I wanna drop this house, but I still want to be in Greek life.

1. if you haven't been initiated, you can rush again next year if you drop right now
2. lots and lots of sophomores get bids during both formal and informal recruitment, absolutely nothing to worry about (i was a spring COB bid my sophomore year)
3. if it doesn't feel right now, it probably won't when you're a year and $1000 in. drop and try to make some friends in other sororities so you have an idea of what houses are the best fit for you when you do formal in the fall. all the best!

If you are a freshman and accepted a cob bid and don’t feel like you fit- DROP ASAP.
As long as you have NOT been initiated, you CAN rush next fall as a freshman. Yes sororities give bids to sophomores. If you still don’t get a bid in the fall- you can still do COB- but remember- many houses do not do COB or they do and invite friends of already initiated sisters. And as above post said- try to make friends in other sororities in the meantime.
Once you are INITIATED into a sorority, you can NEVER pledge another sorority.
Hope this clarifies.
