Sororities that can't keep girls
by: Truth
A quick glance at the Purdue FSCL reports shows which sororities had bad enough retention that they had to do continuous bidding spring '22, after the biggest primary recruitment session in Purdue's history, just to keep their numbers up. Not saying this means anything super concrete about the houses, but...... definitely something to think about.
Alpha Chi Omega - 4 new members
Alpha Gamma Delta - 14 new members
Alpha Omicron Pi - 8 new members
Alpha Phi - 6 new members
Alpha Xi Delta - NONE
Chi Omega - 8 new members
Delta Delta Delta - NONE
Delta Gamma - NONE
Delta Zeta - 16 new members (?? crazy for them, must be on the way down?)
Gamma Phi Beta - 9 new members
Kappa Alpha Theta - 4 new members
Kappa Delta - NONE
Kappa Kappa Gamma - NONE
Pi Beta Phi - 4 new members
Phi Mu - 9 new members
Phi Sigma Rho - 25 new members (note that phi rho's spring PCs are usually this size due to the STEM affiliation)
Sigma Kappa - NONE
Zeta Tau Alpha - twelve new members

I also did a quick glance at this report you reference. I agree having a large number of COB’s is unusual, but to have a handful is perfectly normal and not considered a negative. Are you seriously saying that any girl that chooses to do COB is not worthy of your sorority?
What is even more interesting is that the poster claims the reason for no COB’s is because of retention loss. In fact, Tri Delta has the LOWEST 4 year retention of ANY sorority at Purdue, but they are proud that they have 0 COB’s!
Below are the sororities with 0 COB’s mentioned:
Kappa Delta
o NO service hours
o NO philanthropy
o Grad and Retention% for the last 4 years – 92%
Delta Delta Delta
o NO service hours
o NO philanthropy
o Grad and Retention% for the last 4 years – 85%
Sigma Kappa
o 17 service hours
o $17,200 philanthropy
o Grad and Retention% for the last 4 years – 100% (was 89% last year)
Delta Gamma
o 114 service hours
o $400 philanthropy
o Grad and Retention% for the last 4 years – 97%
Alpha Xi Delta
o 320 service hours
o $830 philanthropy
o Grad and Retention% for the last 4 years – 100% (was 92% last year)
Kappa Kappa Gamma
o 178 service hours
o $3,455 philanthropy
o Grad and Retention% for the last 4 years – 91%
As a comparison, only (3) sororities fell below 90% for Grad and Retention % for the last 4 years: Tri Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Phi Sigma Rho. As a comparison, Alpha Chi Omega, Gamma Phi Beta, and Delta Zeta all has over 1000 Service Hours. Zeta Tau Rho raised $133,237 in Philanthropy which is way beyond any sorority.

ok the thing is most of these houses having to take a lot of COBs is mainly due to seniors dropping bc let’s be real being in a sorority is expensive and you don’t get much out of it when you’re a senior so it’s not logical to stay affiliated and pay dues and stuff. Some houses are also HUGE and take on more COBs to fill bed requirements to their max to take the burden off seniors having to pay empty bed fees (have to take COBs bc of max quota numbers in the fall)
