The “tiers” @ Purdue
by: tiers
Tier 1:
Aphi, Tri Delt, Kappa
hot, blonde, rich, your typical southern sorority. Super social houses that tend to get a lot of attention from the top frats. Aphi is more party focused, kappa is more apperance/image focused and tridelt is more philanthropy/service focused. Although honestly, it’s just personal preference that separates these houses.
Tier 2:
Chi O, Zeta, Pi Phi, AXO
More laid back, great sisterhood but not as involved on campus as the houses above. Pi Phi & AXO are more bro soroities and very down to earth. Zeta & Chi O are great once they show up, but getting them to show up is a problem. With Chi O internal issues and Zetas scandals I unfortunately couldn’t rank them higher.
Tier 3:
DZ, DG, Theta:
Average looks, average sisterhood, average houses. These sororities are mixed bags, mostly in a good way. You’ll never see them as a group but certain girls will end up at a wide range of frats. Usually the nicest girls who don’t make Greek life their whole personality. Unfortunately not the best football pairings this year for any of these houses.
Tier 4:
The rest of the houses that I don’t know enough to write about. Sorry.

The sororities at Purdue are all amazing. They are definitely a higher level than most universities. I think wording instead of tiers is how competitive some houses are. The "top tiers" have severe cuts due to grades and pledge classes already picked.
Tier 2 and 3 have amazing girls.

Social media isn’t the only driver for picking pledge classes. Not many talk about recommendations and legacy but at some houses this is a big issue. How many spots do ChiO and kappa or even aphi have available? Not as many as you think. Kappa in particular is almost exclusively in state only and there is a reason for that. ChiO and aphi have more out of state but both still have to deal with legacy situations. It’s not unusual to now see 4th generation legacy situations. Some houses don’t prioritize or give consideration to legacy but at other houses it’s a deal. Just wanted to put this out there to explain more about how it’s possible to have your class already picked before rush even starts. Pnms need realistic expectations or risk being hurt badly for no reason in early rounds.
