Sig chi and Fiji. These historically and in the future will always be top houses. No way around it. They know how to have a good time, get women into their houses, and find guys who can continue to hold their status as top houses. Other solid upper tier houses (SAE, Delts, Pi Kapps, Beta) have good years, but could never have the kind of consistency that Sig Chi and Fiji have. Not only in their current state, they have history behind them here and that will never change. While other houses get in and out of trouble, and are their reputations are often solely based on whether they have the ability to throw functions, Sigma Chi and Fiji are not restricted in this way, and will also likely never be at risk for becoming kicked off campus. Not sure where this take is coming from, but it's a poor one. This semester guys in historically very average houses (DSig, Pike) and even lower tier (Phi Sig, AEPi) think that they are moving up tiers because of their ability to throw functions, but fail to realize that it's simply not enough if they want to be taken seriously. The quantity may be there, but the quality of women simply is not. Pike has moved up into the middle tier with their Pi Phi pairing, but until Dsig moves above AxiD, they are not going to be taken seriously when they try to compare themselves to ZBT and Theta Chi. Either way, the middle tier, like America's middle class is quickly shrinking and withering away into irrelevance. Like it or not, Purdue's student body seems to be getting geedier and geedier every year, and it's only a matter of time before Fiji starts bidding chumps out of pure necessity and their entire pledge class gets turned on from the elephant walk. These next few years are going to be pivotal in shaping greeklife, and it starts with top houses working hard to maintain their reputation and not allowing the liberal scum in the middle tier to take that away from them.
