sorority reps/opinions
by: personal opinion
chi o, kappa, aphi
pi phi, dz
axo, zeta, ddd
dg, theta
phi mu, kd, sk, axid, aopi
gphi, agd
phi rho, sdt
everyone’s going to have a different opinion but this is mine factoring in general consensus, pairings, sisterhood, and my personal interactions with girls in each house
i put chi o and kappa over aphi because they’re all considered top 3, but generally chi o’s are more studious and chill and kappas are more friendly and have better sisterhood than aphis. the reputation aphi has for being shallow and recruiting for blondes is mostly true, but there are definitely exceptions.
other notes (from top to bottom):
pi phi is known for being one of the more laid back houses, girls are usually chill and friendly
axo and zeta are definitely moving up and great houses to be in
ddd has very nice girls but definitely party focused
dg is most definitely an academic house with well-rounded girls, doesn’t go out as much as the rest
phi mu’s have a “quirky” vibe/reputation, in a cute way
aopi has a beautiful new house but that definitely factors into their dues

I think chi o and a phi are above kappa….. Kappa has an awful sisterhood unless you’re from Indiana. Kappas come off as they’re better then everyone else. Chi o is more studious and a phi definitely parties more. But I think chi o and a phi are the two houses girls consistently want throughout rush. And chi o and a phi are the most friendly. I argue pi phi should also be included in the top, they’re chill and have a good sisterhood. Guys love pi phi’s. But no one can argue these 4 houses consistently are most desirable by freshman.
Zeta, DZ, tri delt, DG and theta also are all great houses. Think DG and Theta are by far more studious and less fun. DZ and Zeta party more and are better then tri delt in my opinion. I find tri delt and axo irrelevant.

Aphi was cancelled last fall following racism allegations and yet they continue to show up on these crazy lists. If you want to be ranked by your sisters and have that number rank follow you for 4 years (or until you drop like many before you), then by all means join the house. Aphi nationally is pretty much the same as what we have here at Purdue. It’s all about the surface and little about the sisterhood or substance of much of anything.
For any pnms out there reading here, I simply suggest looking at retention stats for a house and then look at how sisters treat you and each other. Ask yourself if you feel comfortable with how people are being treated in a house by their sisters.
So over kappa and the Indiana only vibe. This house will never change and that is how they want it. I have never met such an unwelcoming house for folks not from Indiana.
The thing though is that kappa being kappa and Aphi being Aphi really opens things up IMO for other great houses like pi phi, dg and theta as well as tri delt.
I respect chi o for not playing the social media games of Aphi and kappa and for staying true to themselves and it’s because of this that it’s hard to categorize this more diverse house. Some people describe it as chill but I’m sure that is part of it but certainly not all of it. Maybe it’s a house that lets people be themselves and grow and that is ok in my mind. It’s not a house of cookie cutter peeps either in my experience while still having solid sisterhood and this sets the house apart. This is a tough thing to pull off too and yet they consistently are able to maintain the vibe and sisterhood.
We have so many super houses that
