SORORITY REC LETTERS

Short answer is that it depends on the house. Recs won't get you a gty bid but might get you to second round. Long story short, recs aren't hugely impt here and you are largely on your own. Note that this comments excludes Kappa. Its also kinda late for recs but if you think it might help you then by all means have them sent in via email to the houses you are interested in. Also know though that if you are a legacy (houses define this differently so you need to check) that this can impact invites too and in ways you might not expect. So, strongly suggest doing your research before declaring any legacy status info.

They really don’t matter here. The girls in houses now will choose who they want and having a rec letter from some mom who was here 20 years ago doesn’t really change that. Don’t be worried if you don’t have one. And if you do have a letter for a certain house I wouldn’t get your hopes up on automatically being invited back.

Sorority rec letters and legacies really don’t matter during recruitment at Purdue. However, any sorority receiving a rec SHOULD at least ask that pnm back after open houses, especially with it being virtual. In regards to legacies, especially if the alum was at Purdue- houses should put high priorities to those legacies because when they don’t- I’ll guarantee the alums for sure won’t support- snd that means $$$$$$. Think twice ladies.

you're guaranteed to get an invitation back after open houses then that's about it. the rest it up to you. Purdue's sorority rush is quite different from those of traditional southern schools
