After seeing their recruitment video, it seemed that it was a Purdue ad rather than showing what their sisterhood was all about. I found it odd and it appears their sisterhood is forced or fake. Big disconnect when I was there. . I definitely don’t fit in

I'm having the best conversations with girls from "low ranking" houses. They are very cool girls...people I would normally hang out with..but I'm stupidly worried about house reputation. Some of the girls I've met at the "top" houses are so strange. I know every house has strange girls and every house has great girls. How important is reputation? I:m really hung up on it and so mad at myself.

I get it, there’s a big confidence boost from being able to say you’re in a “top house.” Honestly, I think this years PNM’s are waaaay more focused on “top houses” (for example, loving aphi, which never gets so much attention bc ppl can immediately see through the bs) because social media is playing such a bigger role in people’s lives. Look, just because you’re a kappa or aphi or chio does not mean you’re going to become instagram famous (and the girls in those houses who think they are are gonna get a big slap in the face once they graduate and realize no one cares). As someone older, I can confidently say if you feel like you don’t fit in now you never will. Girls drop all the time for various reasons, but I do notice a lot more resentment girls have when they drop out of top houses once they realize how strict they are about their social life/who they associate with. You’ll probably make friends in any house, but really think about what you’re joining a sorority for: close friends and fun parties (bc despite what anyone says, as long as you’re outgoing and nice you can make friends anywhere and get into damn near any frat party) or aesthetics and “followers” and the reputation, which is not going to matter in anyway in 4 years. Your choice!

People act like having thousands of followers is a big deal. Lol anyone can do that. Just buy your followers. Not that hard, people.

Also just a reminder every house goes out it just depends like where you go. Your overall experience will be about the same seriously pick where you think you could have friends at bc you’ll still get to party and do all the other stuff that top houses do just without the clout lmao

Legit just ask them during rush. It’s important to ask people these types of questions if they concern you.

Alpha Phi at IU is the same. They fight for all these YOU-TUBERS and bloggers....and then they don’t make grades.
In fact, look at A Phi on other campuses—attractive but DUMB!
U of Washington describes them as “Orange Barbies”—beautiful but DUMB!!
Is there a trend here? 🤔
