my experience in kappa

I normally would never come on this website because I hate the concept of it but if any PNM’s are lurking I thought I’d share my experience to warn freshman. I was in Kappa for two years. I prefed Kappa and Tri delt and I was SO excited when I got kappa on bid day. I quickly realized the sorority was completely different than the vibe I got during recruitment. They only let their most beautiful people talk during recruitment and hide everyone else. Everything was about photoshoots, looking pretty 24/7 (and getting judged if I didn’t) and desperately trying to be the best sorority on campus (to a pathetic extent). Girls drop left and right and it got to a point where I didn’t even know half my pledge class because they were getting replaced with COB’s.
Kappa in general tries to knock down other sororities, when in general, the girls think about the "what if I joined this house" or "what if I joined that house".
I stuck it out for two years because I liked the idea of being in a sorority and I was hoping it would get better (it never did). My friends and I all decided to drop this year because we had enough. Kappa is a good chapter if you’re interested in things like being Instagram famous and judging other people for their appearances. I’m not saying no one should join kappa or that everyone in the chapter hates it, but I wanted to warn people that will get fooled by their recruitment like I did when I could’ve potentially found a house I ended up enjoying. That’s all from me.

Very interesting....nearly this SAME POST has shown up on Greekrank for other sororities from other schools....so it’s clearly someone trying to stir up trouble or jealous.
This is the MAIN REASON why rushees need to STAY AWAY from the poison that shows up here....

So I’m a kappa baby and my friends on my floor (there’s like 9 of us) are all babies...most of us actually preffed other places and got kappa as a second or third choice. While the idea of us dropping has come up, I’m not sure if we should ride this out. Can the OP give us more detail on the first couple of weeks and if we could change this stigma?

Move on and get to class with the rest of your Alpha Phi or Pi Phi sisters or wherever you’re REALLY from.
ALL our Purdue houses did well...let it go at that.

This message shows up in other universities discussion pages with different sororities changed out. Very interesting so I wouldn’t believe one word especially if your recruitment is over. Seems like it’s some bored people with nothing better to do then get their kicks trying to stir up trouble!
