Aphi, dz, chio makes big cuts earlier on it seems than the other top houses, so if you make it to pref and you put one of those first you probably won’t have to worry too much
Kappa, pi phi, and theta have a more ‘lead you on’ style where physically more girls pref there but often have more disappointed girls on bid day that didn’t end up with one of these three
I think it’s a simply a difference due to the PNM ranking system the houses use and not reflective of the ‘attitude’ of the House. This is just my personal opinion of what I’ve notice through the years!

If Dz makes such huge cuts because they’re so selective, why is it that so many of they’re pledges drop to the point that they have to do spring rush in order to fill their quota? Maybe DZ needs to have more than one girl rush pnm’s to get a better idea of the PNM’s personality. It’ gets a bit concerning when sororities have to do spring rush to fill quotas.

What a stupid question! If there are about 17 sororities with each having a quota of approximately 40 women- that means of the about 1300 women rushing only half get in. ALL of the sororities are selective, so really it’s tough to get in any of them. Sure, there may be some more ‘popular ‘ than others, but it’s still tough to get a bid.

This is really misleading. Only half get a bid because a ton drop before rush even starts or when they realize it’s not what they were expecting. More drop second weekend when they don’t get back who they want. Most girls who trust the process and go through the whole thing WILL get a bid.

Gonna disagree and say it DOES matter how "popular" the sorority is. Houses that are really good at rush and are well liked by PNMs get to be more selective because they know that they have a high return rate, meaning they'll usually get back the girls they want. They get to be more choosey, they don't have to maximize the number of girls coming back

A ton drop because when dirty rushing is going on in all the houses, the pnm gets her hopes up that the active really likes her - then dumps her like a hot potato. Of course that pnm’s heart is crushed - sure they should trust the process, but if a pnm doesn’t like a sorority- why should she continue when she was told how great she was and how she’s a perfect fit- And then you have sites like this bashing one another, everyone on their high horse thinking they’re better than everyone else, and pnm’s see and hear it.

Never met a girl who wanted to be a Theta “that badly”. There’s a reason they get all the girls who don’t make a top house.
