sorority recs and legacies

Question:
In terms of Fall Rush, how important or influencial are recs and legacies during the recruitment process? For instance, if you have multiple legacies at a sorority, are those actually looked at or do most sororities not really care that much?

The legacy thing can kill you or help you, depending on if you'd fit into that house. My roommate last year was a 5th gen of a sorority, so all other houses assumed she would go to that specific sorority and cut her. She ended up not even liking that sorority and got put in a difficult position. I would mention a legacy but don't stress it, or even just wait to bring it up in convo instead of on the application
