The house is really split between glitter (looks and partying) and glue (good grades and involvement). Most houses try to find people with a balance of both. Some houses just get people that are one of them, then get enough of both to be "balanced". Primary example: Kappa

Traditionally "glitter and glue" sororities were ones that had a lot of elementary education majors. Nice girls, but plain... both in looks and personalities.
