fraternity academics and spring rush questions?

How hard will it be to get a bid this spring if my first semester GPA is about a 2.8? I know this isn't the best. I've been asking around trying to figure out what the requirements for different fraternities are. I've heard Beta which is a pretty academic fraternity has a 3.0 requirement for a bid. I know most of the people who browse this site are just sorrority girls arguing about ranks, but if you are in a fraternity and you have an insight on this or you know your chapters GPA requirements I'd appreciate it.

Also how does fall rush differ from spring rush?
