rank with a fraternity

Help a new sister out...Do the guys that are assigned to the"cold air" room have the lowest rank within the fraternity? Should I be avoiding them?

The lower ranking guys are usually the ones who eat each other's toe nails in cold air. Would avoid at all costs.
