I'm coming to Purdue next year and planning to rush, obviously. How important are rec letters?? Should I bother getting them or do they not matter!

Doesn't really matter, honestly. Most girls get exactly where they want to be, rec letter or no rec letter.

Doesn't matter, if a house doesn't like you they will cut you even if you have a letter

If you are a legacy certainly have a letter sent. Although Purdue does not hold strongly to legacies or rec letters. If you can get rec letters, go ahead. They can't hurt. At the most, it may give you one more round with a house. Don't worry about them if you don't have them. What matters most is that you present your best SELF. The ladies in each house know who will be happy in their house. Trust their opinions. Enjoy each party and have fun. Good luck!
