violent fraternities

I heard that there were two fraternities that are pretty violent. One fraternity pulled a gun on another, and another had his ear bit off. Which fraternities were they? How did they not have their charter removed?

20 SAE brothers jumped 5 Sigma Chis during homecoming. Pi Kappa Phi was the one who bit someone's ear off. I would avoid joining either.
