I think this was blown out of proportion. The theme was "you are what you Netflix" and the costume was "Two Broke Girls"... like the show. This was not meant to offend or mock anyone. Should they have thought their choice through? Yes, but you also can't expect college students to anticipate every little problem with everything they do that could potentially offend someone. Personally I saw this as just another example of outrage culture gone too far.
