top tier legacy
by: Junior transferI'm transferring to UNC from a northern school where Greek life never really worked out for me, but I just noticed this site and saw that my dad's house (he went somewhere else) is frequently listed as a "top" house at UNC. Since I'm going to be a junior next fall, I realize it is difficult to rush as a junior, but my dad is heavily involved in this house's nationals, has connections everywhere, was on their general council, etc. Hopefully that would help my cause. Would I have a shot at joining said house next fall? Or am I too old?

Legacy will get you to an event, but you aren't guaranteed anything. With top tier if they don't like you you won't get a bid. There was a kid who rushed in '14, his dad had just payed for this giant house renovation for his old fraternity and they didn't give his son a bid cause he was a chatch. Moral of the story, don't be a chatch and you'll be good.
