While breast cancer is a terrible disease that I myself have lost family too, I find it disturbing that the charity behind the pink ribbon doesn't actually use the majority of it's money for cancer research. If you want some stats feel free to view here. While philanthropy is a cause to keep close to your heart, I don't believe it should be the deciding factor in what sorority you choose to pursue, especially when the charity (at least in my opinion, seems to make somewhat questionable choices with the money that is raised for them)
check out charity navigator, which is a website that breaks down exactly how much of a charity's money goes towards research, fundraising, ect.

I'm a zeta! It's selective like most other houses I'd say, but our philanthropy is a HUGE part of our organization and we work really hard each year to make events like BMOC and Franklin 5k a success. I'd really encourage you to get to know some sisters and see what it's really like to be in zta, because you'll find that all of the hate is unfounded. Zeta is one of my favorite parts of Carolina!
