alpha phi
by: confused, so confusedSo Alpha Phi is colonizing to start a new chapter on campus. Today, they have zero girls. They made a significant cut last night. I cannot figure out why the cut was the way it was. I was cut--I had a 4.0 GPA in high school, a ton of leadership positions, lots of examples of great community service and a good interview. I am above average looks--attractive--on my HS homecoming court. I am out of state. If Alpha Phi is cutting people like me, who could they possibly be looking for?

I too was cut, and was really surprised by it. I thought I had a great interview. I can only think they are being super selective to try and not be a bottom tier. However, I don't see how they could be a middle tier until they get a house. Wish they were willing to take more girls.

I was cut too and am in the same boat. My interviewer was a past international president and I thought we really clicked. All the girls I knew prior to recruitment were also cut. If they're cutting so many amazing girls, who's left? OP, you sound like a ridiculously impressive girl and I'm surprised they didn't take you. They're really missing out!

I think since the overwhelming majority of interest came from freshmen and sophomores, they had to cut from those classes more harshly than overall. They can't have a sorority that's all underclassmen. If you are first year, definitely consider recruitment in the fall. Make friends in houses and give it all you got. You all sound like awesome girls and any sorority would be lucky to have you.
