not going to bid day?

So my suitemate is saying that she regrets putting one of the houses she preffed at on her card. She says if she gets that house then she isn't going to show up. Is that a thing? I think it's awful! Isn't someone going to be waiting for her at the house? I'm a sophomore and saw all of the pictures from last year

I mean she doesn't owe anything to them. If she doesn't want to be there she shouldn't go. If you hate it to the point of not going to bid day, I doubt going to the house will change much
