#3by: PNM Drop
We have heard rumors that the drop rate for recruitment this year is at 250-300 girls out of a potential PNM class of about 800. Is this a typical drop rate? It seems as if it is substantially higher than previous years. I know most Panhellenic's publish their placement rates, does UNC?

I'm sure Panhel has those numbers, but I'm not sure how broadly they're published. I've never seen the exact statistics, but yes, I've heard the drop rate is about 1/3 of the girls who start recruitment each year (although that is just a rumor). Girls drop for a multitude of reasons: they got overwhelmed, didn't like the process, got cut from all 10 houses (yes, that does happen), were cut from their favorite house (not a good enough reason to drop out in my opinion), were forced to rush by their parents, realized they couldn't afford the dues, etc.

Good question. Each round is different.
Open house and skit: as you know, these rounds are very fast, and we have the opportunity to talk to about 3 PNMs each round. After each round, small groups decide yes, no, maybe for each PNM. Both of these rounds should be considered first impressions because different actives meet with each PNM in both of these rounds. There needs to be something in those conversations to make the active rember you. At my house, the maybes and the nos are discussed by the entire house at the end of each day. Each house also has a required number of girls they must release each round. This number is set by Panhel, but houses can and do choose to cut more than required.
